Terms of use

These terms explain what to expect when you use Rust Population.

The site is offered as it is. We read server data from Steam's public Rust server list and from the servers themselves, every five minutes. We work to keep it accurate, but wipes can be reported late, names can be false, and player counts can lag. Treat every figure as a snapshot taken at a stated time, not a promise.

Using the site. You can browse and compare servers without an account or payment. Please keep requests to a reasonable rate, as heavy automated traffic slows the site for other players. If you need the full dataset, email hello@rustpopulation.world and we will find a way to help.

Crawlers and AI tools. Search engines, bots and AI crawlers are welcome. Read robots.txt and llms.txt before you start; they show what is where. Keep your fetch rate sensible so ordinary visitors still get quick pages.

Server owners. Your server appears because it is on the public list. Its page shows what the server publishes: name, tags, wipe times, player slots. To change what we display, change it on the server. We usually pick up edits within five minutes.

Not affiliated. Rust Population is independent and has no connection with Facepunch Studios. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.

Changes. We may update these terms at any time. The date at the foot of the page shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after that date, you accept the new terms.

Questions

Q.1How often does Rust Population update its server data?

We read from Steam's public Rust server list and from the servers themselves every five minutes. That means a player count or wipe time can be up to five minutes old. If a server reports a change late, it may take a little longer to appear.

Q.2Can I use Rust Population data in my own project?

You are welcome to browse and compare servers for personal use. If you want the full dataset, email hello@rustpopulation.world and we will discuss terms. Please do not scrape at a rate that slows the site for other visitors.

Q.3How do I correct information about my server on Rust Population?

Everything on a server page comes from what the server publishes, such as its name, tags, wipe schedule and player slots. To change what we show, change it on the server itself. We usually detect edits within five minutes.
