Rust population: how many people play, and where
We count every public Rust server every five minutes. Most of the population is found in Europe in the evening; here is the rest of the survey.

Q.1How many people are playing Rust right now?
We cannot give you a fixed figure here, because it changes through the day. The live total sits above this text and is recounted every five minutes from Steam's public server list. Read it alongside the regional breakdown to see where that population is sitting at the hour you look.
Q.2Where do most Rust players gather?
Europe carries the largest share of the population for most of the day, and North America takes over as the evening moves west. Asian and Oceanic servers are quieter overall but spike in their own evenings. The regional counts on this page show the split at the time you read it, not a rounded average.
Q.3How often are the player counts refreshed?
Every five minutes. The counts come from Steam's public Rust server list and are never older than that. Wipes are picked up within about five minutes of a server reporting a new world.
Q.4Can I see which servers are busiest near me?
Yes. Open the full server population list and filter by region, then sort by current players or next wipe. The just-wiped list shows servers whose population is likely to climb in the next few hours.
